On Saturday, July 19th, 2025, the Saline Rotary Club brought the warmth of summer and the joy of community together at the Saline Farmer’s Market by cooking and giving away over 120 ears of sweet, delicious corn! From the moment the first pot started to boil, the air was filled with the comforting aroma of fresh sweet corn—a sure sign that something special was cooking.
The morning sun added to the sizzle as our dedicated crew of Rotarians and volunteers got to work, shucking, boiling, and serving corn with care and cheer. The corn was handed out with a smile to community members of all ages, many of whom eagerly covered their ears with toppings ranging from the classic (butter, olive oil, salt, pepper) to the bold (hot paprika) and even the sweetly unexpected (cinnamon sugar).
In true community spirit, volunteers not only served from our booth but also took to the market aisles, sharing the summer treat with our outstanding local vendors and visitors alike. The morning was filled with laughter, gratitude, and the unmistakable sense of togetherness that makes Saline so special.
A heartfelt thank you goes out to the Saline Farmer’s Market for inviting us to host this festive event, to Prochaska Farms for generously providing the farm-fresh corn, and to the Saline American Legion for the use of their roasters.
Everyone had a great time and we can’t wait to do it all again next year!
